The Yamaha stereo amplifier A-S500 allows users to set up a second set of speakers in another room. The Yamaha system also produces good volume control with the integrated stereo amplifier by utilising the continuously variable loudness control. The Yamaha integrated amplifier lets users turn the volume down on their system while maintaining optimal sound quality. It has two speakers at 85 watts each and a separate power supply for the iPod dock to allow for a clearer sound. With dimensions of 17 inches (43 cm) by 6 inches (15 cm) by 15 inches (38 cm), the Yamaha stereo amplifier is easy to set up in any room. The integrated stereo amplifier uses ART Base to prevent external vibrations from affecting the quality of the sound. The Yamaha integrated amplifier can be set to power the components in the second zone when the main unit is turned on or off. Well built and sounds great for budget amp
You will not regret to have this amp set as your entry level stereo system. For lp records listener, this has phono stage line input, and it does the job fine too. It's a solid built amp with elegant black metal look. Line selector and volume control knobs look very nice. Excelent amplifier for a nomal budget

Great amplifier

YAMAHA AS500 AMPLIFIER
A really good amplifier offering me the phono connection I wanted to rid me of the need for a pre-amp. The amp offers the ability to switch between two speaker sets or both and features switching from direct sound of any music or over riding by switching to control the treble / bass etc. It has a large sound from its sleek appearance with a good quality tone through various sound sources.
