This box set features all thirteen episodes of the offbeat miniseries drama AGAINST ALL ODDS, plus the feature film version of the same. The programs collectively dramatize how Israel managed to survive terrorist attacks and at least four major wars to become a contemporary wonder. First on the bill are Programs 1-3, in which Shula Cohen, a married woman residing in Beirut, becomes one of Israel's most famous spies; Israeli troops in the Yom Kippur War are delivered by a mysterious wind that reveals dozens of land mines; and during World War I, a British major draws inspiration from the story of Saul and Jonathan to launch an offensive against a Turkish garrison. Next up are Programs 4-6, with events including Israel's struggle for freedom from British rule, the establishment of Israel as an independent country in 1948, and the horrors and legacy of the Holocaust. Programs 7-9 depict and examine Avigdor Kahalani's tumult and survival in the Yom Kippur War, while installments 10-12 cover a series of inexplicable miracles, including the appearance of unusual sword-wielding beings who foil Arab marauders in their attempts to wipe out a Jewish village, the presence of storks that save a farming village from locusts, and more. Finally, the final episode, #13, sets out to answer the question "Is Israel a place of miracles?"
