Great to own a light small e reader for day reading
Though I have a kindle fire and a bigger size phone sometimes I have no auddio books and do't feel like carrying my heavier tablet and find it read from my phone (light reflections)> this is perfect. I downloaded all my books quickly and after getting used to having a non touch screen again it's fine. For the price I paid this is great for day reading on the good . Incredible, some learning curve but extremely worth it!
I couldn't get it to connect to my Amazon account, but research says that’s a good thing! You need a special kind of micro-USB to transfer files- There’s two kinds of micro-USB, one for charging and one for charging and data transfer. If one doesn’t work, your kindle isn’t broken, just try the other! PDFs break after thirty pages and don’t look great which was a dealbreaker for me RIGHT UNTIL I started converting all my PDFs to .txt, which I’ve encountered few to no problems with. After figuring all that out, this kindle is now one of the items I always have on me, along with my phone, wallet, and mask. It’s so great being able to read fanfiction and whole novels on the same device, and the interface is comfortable too. I love the non touch screen.
I have one of these already but a couple of the page turn buttons are starting to stick. I figured I'd buy another one before they all disappeared. I love the physical page turn buttons, I love that all the buttons are physical. I love that it's not touch screen. I read all the time, when food (or anything else) falls on a touch screen, it makes the page move. If you're reading outside and you need to brush off the screen, you have to turn your reader off or you'll move pages. If you fall asleep while reading, and the e-reader falls on your face, the pages move. The only downside of this reader is, if you have to enter something like a WiFi password, picking letters one by one with the arrows can be tedious. I have a touch screen e-reader and I've barely used it since I got my first kindle. This last kindle I bought looks brand new. Love It
I got this to go along with my kindle fire and my samsung tablet because I cannot read enough and when one device dies I go to the other while one charges. This I got because a friend said the battery lasted two weeks. Going on week two and it's still going strong. It was a little pricey but it was also brand new so I understand a little. I had issues with it at first because you cannot update the older kindles over wifi any longer it all has to be done manually. All in all I am glad that I got this. Works as expected! Very excited about it.
This is an old model of kindle, so I did not expect it to work amazingly. So yes, the battery did run out after only a few days of use (in years past when I had this version it lasted much longer). However, I was using it consistently and it works excellently otherwise! Perfect size for me to hold and take everywhere

Lightweight and easy to use

Better Than Newer Touchscreen Model
I bought a Kindle like this about 5 years ago, and used it continually with no problems until it wore out. I then bought a new touchscreen model from Amazon and had problems with it. It kept changing the font size for no reason, and was difficult to program. I decided to go back to the tried and true, and bought this model (Generation 4). It works just like my original Kindle, and so far I am very happy with it. The pushbutton system works much better for me than a touchscreen. had no choice
bought this used, because when my own kindle froze up had to get another one. Tried the kindle fire but could not work with the touch screen. just too sensitive for me, kept flipping pages when I didn't want to and reading in bed caused the screen to change direction constantly. Kindle only offers new touch screens now so had to find a button one online. The thing was in a little more used state than I hoped for but it works flawlessly and I received it in good order.. Happy with it. It was only after I bought this one that I discovered that the screen of my old one could get unfrozen so now I have two working ones. Very nice older model
Screen and everything else looked exactly like the pictures. I really prefer the old non-touchscreen readers, I wish it was an option we could get on the new ones. The right-side page turning button on this one doesn't work, but the one on the left does. I read in bed, so when I'm turned on that side, I just wrap my hand around the back & hit the left button that way.
