The sequel to one of the best RPG's I have EVER PLAYED IN MY 30+ YEARS of mastering RPG'S!!
I Bought this game - Trails of Cold Steel 2 because it is game 2 (obviously :-p ) out of 3 games. When I first bought it, I had bought it from Gamestop because I trust that particular associates taste in games, he said I would enjoy it he also told me it was sort of hard to find especially at the price I was going to acquire it at. They also happened to have yhr 3rd game in stock as well. Anyways I bought both games with the "Eventual plan" to buy the second online, because it was not available. I figured I would get to it eventually. What I did not llan for was that I would FALL HEAD OVER HEELS FOR THE SERIES, T.O.C.S. 1 was probably one of the 3 best RPG'S I have EVER PLAYED IN MY 30+ YEARS OF GAMING. I have mastered the RPG genre, and despite parts of the game being kind of gawdy and childish it amazed me down to the core. The story grabbed me and hooked me deep and took me for a totally unexepected ride. I would consider TOCS to be one of very few games I would call a WORK OF ART, instead if just a typical game to beat on. It's story was deep, and made sure you felt a connection to the characters, well written and full of not ONLY action and suspense but a cliff hanger that pushed my planned purchase of its sequel (this game I am reviewing) up to "right away" lol I look forward to plowing through the rest of this trilogy. Therr is no doubt in my HIGHLY experienced mind that this game Sony blow me away as #1 did. All Trails fans should have this game
When I first bought Trails of Cold Steel I didnt expect it to be such a good game and a fantastic story also . Here in this 2nd game of the series it shares a lot of the mechanics with a few extra thrown in there. The story gets even better in this one making you want to know whats goonna happen next!! The first game made me buy the 2nd one on the first day I played it and this one did the exact same thing. The story characters & environments are colorful if your the same kinda gamer as me searching methodically is a must in each area. What I find very interesting is character progression. Each one grows in a noticable way and are very different from the first game which makes you wonder how they will be like in next chapter.
