Good training lens
Image quality is adequate in that I can identify most ducks in photographs at 1/4 mile, which is great for $55. It is totally manual and you need a lot of light, but if you have it, this lens on my Nikon D3200 (APS-C crop) will rival a 1/2.3 sensor point-and-shoot super-zoom camera at 60x due to greatly reduced noise. Build quality is fine -- the body is not made of plastic. Definitely "better than expected." Call it a good training lens.

I haven't used it yet to photograph anything but I set it up and the magnification is awesome. Looking forward to warmer weather to go photo some wildlife.
