Samsung 870 QVO is a great alternative to a mechanical HDD
The Samsung 870 QVO is a great alternative to a mechanical hard drive. Although the SSD would be capable of been utilized as a boot drive I would recommend using this drive as a storage drive for media and games. The main reason for this is because the QVO utilizes QLC which doesn't wear and endure as well as SLC NAND technology. The read speeds are 554 MB/s, but the write speeds are the strength of the QVO, after benchmarking via the Samsung Magician software it recorded a write speed of 482 MB/s. VFM and free cloning software.
Replacement for my Kingston SSD 500gb.No performance gain in boot speed but I tried two third party cloning software with no success...however used the Samsung cloning software (free) and it worked first time.So,great value for money and hassle free software means I would highly recommend this drive.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Just the job!
This was used to upgrade an old Dell 7010 2-in-1 desktop whose rotating rust hard drive had seen a few years use. The Dell had had Win7 on it originally, and we had added Linux for the usual performance, maintenance and security boost. The new drive was connected via the DVD SATA connector and Knoppix Linux was used to do the transfer of the old image to the new drive using 'dd'. The DVD was reconnected and the 'hard' drives swapped, then it booted up flawlessly on the SSD. Bodhi Linux 6.0 was installed to bring the system right up to date. It's like chalk and cheese, the subjective performance is much faster than before, confirmed with the Linux HardInfo benchmarks. In conclusion, it was easy to install and transfer the data cleanly, the new OS loaded perfectly, and the performance exceeded our hopes. Recommended!Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

HDD replaced with ssd

had a worry for a few hours had to scan ...
