Goodbye Autofeed line
I have never managed to get a strimmer with autofeed line to work. This strimmer has 1 piece of cutting line about 18" long which is super heavy duty. If it ever wears out it is a simple job to replace it, ( 3 lines included ) I have tackled an overgrown bank, covered with rocks and brambles, this strimmer never flinched and did the job easily and quickly. I have also done a lawn edge against a stone wall that had not been tackled for a couple of years, some 100 metres long, and it did the job with no fuss and the original cutting chord is unmarked. It is not short on power, which means wearing proper clothing, gloves and face/eye protection is certainly advisable. This is a quality build piece of kit, therefore on the heavy side, but no more than the petrol equivalent. I am totally satisfied with this strimmer and so pleased to say goodbye to petrol filling, hard to start, line snapping versions. Just plug in, switch on and go.....fabulous. Very powerful
If you have thick grass, thistles, brambles, etc this will get the job done. You will probably need an extension lead but they're very inexpensive. I used this to clear an overgrown garden for an old lady I know and it was perfect for the job. I hit walls and stones a few times but the strimmer wire was still the same length. Powerful and light.
This is the electric strimmer I've been waiting for. It is very powerful and the short length cutting wires are very strong. No more tedious winding of new wires onto the head. Superior Replacement
This is a replacement for a Black and Decker strimmer which lasted nine years. The Bosch strimmer has a straight design and will easily take a brushcutter attachment. The reach is longer and it is not necessary to stoop to reach the area to be cut. Build quality is good but setting up the guarantee cover is a pain. Brilliant tool
I have always wanted a strimmer that does a decent job. But was never able to find one. I liked the petrol driven ones used by the professional gardeners but was never keen enough to have to deal with the fuss and bother of mixing petrol and oil to keep them running. When I saw this electric bush cutter, I knew that I had found what I had been looking for. My garden has become significantly overgrown since I was medically retired 5 years ago. I have been able to use this product whilst sitting in my wheelchair. Obviously I have been followed protective clothing and equipment guidelines but have been unable to follow the instructions as to using the tool completely as stated. I have managed to use this tool as if I were a short person. And I have been able to rest the weight upon my thighs. I may only be able to cover small areas at a time, since I am not able to use wide sweeps as an able bodied person could, but I can use this with more safety than someone who is standing. I will not trip up and I am able to keep my cutting height consistent and thus avoid sending detritus flying. It may take me a while to get the work done but it is done without risk of tripping on the cuttings or dropping the cutting height due to back strain. Since my wheelchair takes the brunt of the forces exerted upon the user I can handle the product for much longer than any able-bodied user. By purchasing blades for bush cutters sold in the USA, with my neighbours help we have even cut down bushes and small trees up to 3 inches thick. This does need a constant force to be applied away from the cut to keep the blade from the downward force of the trees/bushes weight on the surface of the blade. We burnt out the motor of my first purchase of this tool when we used this on our first group of trees and bushes without the force being applied higher than the cutting point. The full weight of the trees thus Sat on top of the blade causing the motor to have to fight the friction upon the blade as well as the work of cutting the wood. As a result the motor became far too hot and burnt-out. With this replacement we had no trouble with trees of the same size when we applied the force away from the side being cut so no weight pressed down upon the blade. The easiest way to do this was to tigh a rope a couple of feet above the site to be cut, then the trees bole could be pulled away from the blade from a safe distance by the users partner. Doing it that way resulted in no more heat generated in the motor than when cutting down the area of a thick bramble patch. Overall I give this tool a very high quality, value for money and flexibility in use (with the right blade) score. Effective and good value
Once the language free assembly was out puzzled it went together OK. The strimmer lost one side of the nylon the moment I caught a brick step at the edge of the lawn but is easily replace. The brush cutter worked really well and I cleared a dense area of nettles, brambles and grass in abour half an hour without a problem. I little heavy but a small penalty for a robust effective bit of kit that saved huge amounts of manual labour. Powerful Grass Trimmer!
Done some research before deciding on this model. It is very powerful! Make sure you are fully protected with glove, long sleeve jacket, Thick Jeans and full face mask. Believe me, you don't want the debris and grass to hit you. Though the wire cord length a bit on the short side, but easily overcome with a extension. It Strims like a good un!
This is a proper strimmer, not like those cheap feeble things that are sold or given away with lawn mowers. I tackled a garden that we had "rewilded" i.e done nothing in since building work and wow it just cuts thick grass.
