Anchorseal is a great product to reduce splitting and checking of wood.
Like their advertising says, Anchor seal reduces end checks in wood when it dries by about 80%. You'll still lose a few boards, and some still check, but it is much, much less. I use this to coat bowl blanks for lathes and it does a great job of stabilizing the blanks even though a bowl blank is mostly end grain. Anchorseal 2 is water clean up and goes on like white latex paint, but then dries nearly clear, though a little bit milky still. When I'm coating highly figured wood like burls and crotchwood, I'll often use polyurethane instead so I can better see the grain. Most of the time however, I use Anchorseal 2. Great sealer!
After the storm, I've had the opportunity to cut lots of nice wood for later use as boards and other projects, this product seals very well, no end checking after several weeks as I would have expected! Just paint on as you would latex paint.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Does work
It does work to seal the ends of logs to help prevent cracks. I have had some cracks but I think that's mostly because my wood dried out in the heat under a hot carport with no water to keep the logs moist, but I have had very little cracking.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu
