Great Delay for any type of musician
Wonderful delay with great tonal options for those who want a tap tempo delay without presets or dialing in exact millisecond values. Based on the 2290 unit used on many records over the years. The repeater offers better modulation control and fx level control than its brother, the Nova Delay. From biting slapback to soft lush dual delays, this pedal has you covered. My favorite feature is the kill dry button that mutes your dry signal for solos or effects with just the delay running. This is of course best used with the reverse delay so you can make a trippy solo or make washes of sound with an e-bow and volume pedal. A final feature that is rather genius is the audio tapping feature - hold down the tap tempo button and make muted strokes on your guitar to set the delay onstage during a count-in. This makes the lack of presets entirely bearable! It's a pity they discontinued this model. While the Nova Delay can store presets, the level of subtlety and modulation control which can help you achieve a very personal and unique depth to your sound are clearly better on this pedal. TC Nove Repeater RPT-1 sounds great, feature rich & simple to operate
I like TC's Nova Repeater RPT-1 because it's simple to operate, it's feature rich and it sounds good. Its push-button 'Drykill' is ideal for processing delays through a parallel loop set up. Its 'Tone' knob is great for simulating those darker analog-ee echoes. There's much about it to like. I could go on and on. I've been through dozens of delay pedals. Best dedicated tap delay for the money
This delay pedal is easily the best delay you can get with a dedicated tap button and subdivision selections for under $200. It's clean, incredibly accurate and simple to manipulate on the fly. I searched high and low for something that had a dedicated tap tempo and selectable time divisions before coming across this and the Nova Delay. Either is sufficient depending on your need for presets. I don't really have a need for presets and found the added mod options to be a great trade-off. This thing is as clean as it gets, but it can also get a nice approximation of an analog sound with the mod furthering that along.
