Fantasy with a twist
Not your usual fantasy series; no dragons or elves in sight. The idea of the insect-kinden is fresh and original. Characters are richly drawn and change over time. Setting the scene/describing the world is done with the lightest of touches, just enough to fill in the background, not enough to be boring. Highly recommended.
