Very ergonomic
We have had two electric grinders bite the big one in the space of two years, and the little Aeropress-fitting hand grinders that are commonly available now, while inexpensive and quiet, take a long time to grind coffee and the torque needed makes it hard on wrists, especially for older people like me. I'd determined to get the Rok grinder if the second electriic grinder broke, so I went ahead and ordered it. First off, it's nice to have one that's quiet to use again. Big plus there. And it's almost as fast as the electric ones we had, which is good. But the big plus for me is that it's ergonomic to use, with none of the strain I'd had with the small grinder. The down side, insignificant to me, is that it can be messy to use, with an open bean hopper and having grounds sometimes cling to it and then fall off while the catching cup is being used to put fresh grounds into whatever Is being used to make the coffee. I have found ways to mitigate this, for example by adapting a plastic lid of the right size to slip on and fit around the middle shaft over the chute, to prevent partly-ground beans from flying up out of it. It helps as well to tap the bottom of the mechanism with the catching cup while it's in place under it to make them fall off into it. It's not perfect but the electric ones were messy as well, no way around it. Oh, and you can really set it to any fineness you like. Good for everything from Turkish grind to French press and any variant in between. Yes, it's expensive for a manual grinder. But I am very happy with it overall and can be assured it will be the last one I will ever need to buy.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

ROK Coffee Grinder
I have a manual La Pavoni Espresso machine and I wanted to move away from my electrical burr grinder as I wanted a more hands-on Espresso making experience. I’ve been using the ROK for a week now and I have it dialled in. My Espresso is much more consistent and the ROK is fun to use. It takes about 60 crank revolutions to grind a double shot which is less than a minute. It’s quiet than electrical grinders. I don’t wake the house up. Easy to clean. The ROK has been out for a couple of years and it’s proven. Very happy with my purchase. Compact & Easy
Grinds coffee beans so much faster than my previous manual grinder. The ROK grinder may not be for everyone, but it is 100% exactly what I’ve been looking for. Best hand coffee grinder I’ve had!
Made more than two dozen americanos in two days, not definitive of future durability, however I am very pleased to date. Critics claims of coffee grounds getting all over is true, however, it wasn’t the end of the world. I got another cup to put under the grinder and it took care of that problem. One other problem I had was the coffee beans jumping out out of the hopper during grinding. An easy solution was to place my left hand, or your right hand over the hopper, problem solved. Great grind but frustrating
Pro: The grind quality is great. Best espressos I have ever made. Pro: Easy and fast to use. Con: Static electricity build up wastes a lot of coffee and makes it hard to clean. Drops of water helps but still an issue. Con: Beans jump out of hopper.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Generalüberholt

“New open box” needs more explanation
The grinder itself is fine. However, it was advertised as “new open box”. It appears that this must have been a returned item, as the non-slip strip in the bottom was cracked and showed signs it had been used. Vendor should make it clear exactly what the condition of the item is. Otherwise, it works fine. We are familiar with the design and features of both the grinder and ROK press and like them

Huge upgrade for us
I saw some people complaining about various aspects of this grinder here and on other review sites and hoped that it was just pickier people than me being picky. I can say now that that’s true. We had a manual coffee grinder before this that did the job just fine but took forever and a lot of elbow grease to grind. We have had lower end electric grinders that always end up dying after a couple years at most. Instead of shelling out hundreds for an espresso grinder we went with the ROK and have been super pleased. The cup it comes with to catch the grounds is staticky for sure but I bought a similarly sized ceramic cup and it works just fine. A small glass would work well, too. some people complained heavily about that but I didn’t find it to be a complaint worthy of losing stars. Are there higher end grinders out there? Absolutely. what a beauty
what a beautiful and ergonomic design compared to all those other hand grinders I don't drink coffee so not sure how it works on beans I bought it to grind herb tea and wish it was a little bit higher than that little cup it comes with, I would like to be able to fit a jar under there but ............:)Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu
