This 12 year old 12A toner cartridge works as good as the day it was made!
This particular HP 12A toner cartridge was an "open box", but sealed in the bubble wrap. Brand new (relatively speaking, since the box is dated 2011! The cartridge/toner is 12 years old!). And works perfectly. My previous 12A toner cartridge (used; bought it just to make sure my free 1022N printer (someone was throwing it away!) was functioning properly) was purchased in 2018 and lasted 5 years before the prints started fading. So, just know that a 12 year old sealed/unopened 12A toner cartridge is as good as any.
