Lots of features, will need a reference book
Loved the multitude of features, though I haven't tried all out yet. Things to note: - Not everything is intuitive. I will probably look into getting a reference book to help with setting up the features for more that the average-looking photo. - The slave flash doesn't come with batteries, takes AA. - The lens cap cord comes with a sticky pad that I haven't had much success with. It won't stick on very well, so I just take the lens cap off and put it in my pocket. - The screen protectors are one-size-fits-all and must be cut to size for your screen. A great starter and I love it. Still my go to.
I love it. I have since bought a Sony RX 10 and a Nikon P1000. I still feel like home with the D3500. The menu is friendly and the 24.2 is a high quality picture. So much so that I bought the same camera for both of my kids and they are loving them. I take pictures of planets while the son takes pictures of my granddaughter and grandddog. My daughter takes wildlife pictures and says she decompresses after a day as a financial advisor. She says she always liked to photograph birds in her backyard but now can zoom in and do justice. It's and absolute great first DSLR and as I explore other cameras I still come back to the D3500. I put on a 500mm lens and got great photos of the moons of Jupiter. There is something about a Nikon that just makes you want to take great pictures! Great camera!
This is a terrific package and offers Nikon quality and great selection of accessories. Other than talent and skill, pretty much everything is in the box! One of the reviews that we read beforehand said that it was light weight and that was important to us. I have my fathers Nikon F2 from the sixties and used it for thirty years without a problem. I also have a Nikkormat from that period of time. Same thing, I used it for thirty years! Anxious to get back into the photography hobby. Tired of using our phones! Incredible Deal + Great Camera

Pretty Good
This is a kit designed for entry level photographers. I love that it includes almost everything you would want to start off. The only reason for 4 stars is that some of the accessories are incredibly cheap/low-quality. This means they aren’t useful and only add to the cost without any benefit.
