I was pleasantly surprised at how authentic this leg-rest was faithfully constructed--obviously by people who love Steinbergers. I have a Steinberger GL2TGR myself, but the brace was for another instrument, a classic Roland G-707 synth controller guitar which I've upgraded to modern standards, using EMG pickups, a Fender LSR roller nut and other hardware. It is the one with the neck-stabilizing 'handle', and its triangular body shape made it impossible to play sitting down. Roland had provided a synthetic rubber 'pad' on the underside edge to try and facilitate this, but it has never worked. I got the brainstorm when I realized that a Steinberger x-Series leg brace would work in this place, but finding one was problematic and expensive--until I found this store! I found a spot-on reproduction of the brace for about half the cost of the used (worn-out looking) 'RFE' parts I found, and after installing it in place of the 'rubber baby buggy bumper', I now have a working G-707! It was enjoyable to visit this site and eBay store, and besides parts for every Stein imaginable (including Trans-Trem parts!), there are more Steinbergers for sale there than you can shake a Chapman Stick at! How cool can that be?Vollständige Rezension lesen

I added this device to a Steinberger kit bass guitar that does not include a leg rest. Without the leg rest, because of the angular shape of the ash body, the bass tends to slide off the leg when playing while seated. The leg rest keeps the guitar in place. The hinge is attached to the bass body with two screws. The hinge has a small flap of metal that acts as a spring to keep the lever in closed position (against the body of the bass), or open. The spring tends to rise slightly above the level of the hinge when opened. I wanted to avoid contact of the spring with the wood, and made a small plastic spacer that has a dent sufficiently deep for the travel of the spring. The spacer is sandwiched between the hinge and the body. Pictures are shown of the hinge and spacer before attachment to the body, as well as the leg rest in closed and open position after attachment to the bass. The small white object on the end of the open leg rest is a piece of felt I added to protect the bass body.Vollständige Rezension lesen

I bought a Chibson Flying V copy and for playing in sitting position you have to wind around your right leg over the lower wing of the guitar. This makes playing in sitting position very uncomfortable for your knee and for your left arm, because the neck is too high and not parallel to the floor. Screwing the leg rest around in the middle position between both pickups the problem is solved. Additionally comes that the feared headweight of the guitar is completely away. Gibson should offer this part for all of its V models including Epiphone!

Made to the original design by Ned Steinberger, with the correct materials, these units have been out of production for YEARS until these guys re-released them. Otherwise impossible to find nowadays. And top quality!
