The first Star Wars game on Xbox 360 offers players a rare opportunity to engage in brick-blasting battles and some sci-fi spoofing. As the title suggests, the storyline focuses on the first three films in the Star Wars saga. Players will choose from a variety of LEGOized characters as they attempt to end the Galactic Empire's tyrannical reign. The lighthearted action is designed for players of all ages and abilities, with offbeat special moves such as Leia's head-knocking slaps to Obi-Wan's helmet-spinning use of the Force to confuse his attackers. As players progress through familiar movie scenes in the story mode, they can unlock more than 50 characters and even mix-and-match individual parts or accessories to create custom hybrids for use in the "free play" mode. Also available is the ability to build vehicles such as landspeeders, AT-STs, and speeder bikes, or to ride creatures like tauntauns and banthas. The first game's cooperative play option is included with a revamped camera and more team-oriented challenges. Xbox Live users can unlock 54 additional characters for free play, expanding the roster to include Darth Maul and other fan favorites. |

Good graphics
Compelling gameplay
Good value
Star Wars Lego does it again
Not until now has a Star Wars game taken such an irreverent stance and captured the playful spirit of that far away galaxy. Despite being skewed toward youngsters, LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game offers some exceptionally fun gameplay that will appeal to fans no matter what their age. Use the Force, O-Blocky-One Taking its storyline cues straight from the prequels, gamers are immediately thrust into action at the beginning of The Phantom Menace, at which point the space coaster ride takes off and doesn't end until the final act of Revenge of the Sith. Each film is broken down into a series of chapters representing their most exciting segments. Throughout each chapter, players encounter a number of enemies to dispose of, such as battle droids and droidekas, and boss characters like Darth Maul and Jango Fett, in both ground and air combat. Players are also tasked with solving a myriad of engaging, yet fairly simple puzzles. While progressing through the game, players will unlock new characters (more than 30 in all) whose abilities and gear will aid in replaying areas to solve previously unsolvable puzzles and accessing new areas, which helps add a bit replay value. The gameplay isn't going to challenge hardcore gamers as the enemies simply aren't that tough, but the presentation really shines. Traveler's Tales has done an outstanding job making LEGO Star Wars look and sound great. The character models expertly resemble like their real-life blocky counterparts, yet move with fluidity and grace despite their stiff-looking stature. And although there's a lack of voice acting, the sound effects and music are simply spot on. The controls handle favorably well, however, the lack of a moveable in-game camera provides for a little frustration--especially when navigating narrow precipices or jumping to and from certain platforms. Little Jedi, Big Lightsaber For parents out there looking for a great kids' game or for fans who are simply looking for a fun little adventure, LEGO Star Wars is the game to get. Its combination of lighthearted gameplay, wealth of unlockable characters, and excellent presentation make it an easy recommendation.
Lego Star Wars 2
It is an entertaining game with lots to do. A lot of replayability. Pretty good graphics considering it being childishly rendered in its animations. Good changes of seens and great controls. Only problem is there are no upgrades for people meaning you get what you get. You also have to go around the map where the money is spilt to collect it which can get frustrating. The camera is sometimes a little wacky, but the good overweighs the bad by far. I would recommend this as a great game to a child and even an adult. Entertaining but based more for a child. If you are looking for using lots a different star wars moves and using the force and constanly being great Jedi I would say to get Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for the slightly more teen to mature crowds, it has a lot more action and is more fast paced and put together. Don't listen to the IGN reviews on that game, it does have problems but is a fantastic game.
I Just Want to Be Darth Maul!!!
Expect the same gameplay as the first trilogy except with different characters and the classic trilogy plot. That detail alone makes it more appealing than the last one. And you still get to play as Darth Maul and other characters if you want by way of the create a character machine. Graphics are not a major improvement on the 360. In fact I can't see much difference at all besides my HD clarity. Collecting Lego pieces can be repetitive and getting shot is no picnic either. And the stormtroopers just never stop coming for some reason. Controls are solid on-foot but vehicles are not so fun even though they should be. They usually feel like they are taking up to much of the screen and you always end up hitting your group members with them. At least they respawn. Co-op multiplayer makes the game worth playing over with a friend or your children. You can play through or just decide to fight each other. You usually end up hitting each other a lot anyway just because of controls. But it is a fun game. Must have for Star Wars or Lego fans. Everyone else should Rent before you Buy. 4/5
Good game-better than the last
I am a uber star wars fan, & although I think the legos style is funny, the original star wars legos game felt too child-like. This new one, the 2nd, is more challenging with the puzzles, enemies, & the humor is good. Graphics 5 stars Sound 5 stars Gameplay 4.5 very fluifd, although the aiming system could be better ... Difficulty 3.5 Puzzling levels, will give you a bit of a challenge, but remember this is no Halo =) Star wars fans will enjoy this game, however, it is short, & the funny cut scenes are even shorter! Beleive it or not. Very breif. On a last note ...I expected to play then sell the game. However, you can go back & "free play" levels with extra characters you can purchase in the game, and only these special characters can access certain areas in the game, making the replay value a little higher. In the end, if you get past the "star wars magic" that we all love, It's a fun. but breif, comical ride. Die hard SW fans & younger kids should buy. Hope this helps!!
Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (Xbox 360)
Excellent game for an adolescent! Very mild violence, no blood shed. Very closely follows the Star Wars movies. Characters show a strong resemblance to the original Star Wars characters, except for the fact they are Lego people. I found this game easy to figure out though I do not play video games often. I decided to purchase this game because we already owned the Nintendo DS version. It was difficult to look over our son's shoulder and play with him, so we purchased it for our non-traveling game system. The most negative thing about the game is chopping the Lego people up with light sabers. Since Legos fall apart anyway when they are played with, I would hardly say the game is violent. I would definitely recommend this game above and beyond many others that are out there for purchase!
