Despairing, Rose finds herself falling in love with Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio), a carefree and poor young artist who is also aboard. When the great ship strikes an iceberg and begins to sink, Rose and Jack have only each other as their world falls apart around them.Director James Cameron spared no expense in bringing his simple yet powerful love story to life, building a 90% scale model of the ship, fussing over the tiniest details, and ultimately spending some $200 million dollars. A worldwide smash, TITANIC received fourteen Academy Award nominations and 11 wins, including Best Picture. Despite all the lavish sets and special effects, the film would be nothing without the emotional core provided by stars Winslet and DiCaprio, who give star making performances as the tragic young lovers.

    Ultimate edition for Titanic fans

    This is “the” version to have if you are as big a Titanic fanatic as I am. There are three different commentary tracks; one by the the cast and crew, one by director James Cameron, and one from historical expert. This set also has lots of bonus features. The packaging is beautiful. Highly recommend.

    Stands the test of time

    After seeing this for the first time a couple of weeks ago, I knew I had to own it. And after looking around I found this collector's edition to be the best way to own it. It has a lot of behind the scenes as well as commentaries from cast, crew, and James Cameron (though Leo isn't one of them unfortunately). There's a lot I learned about how this movie was put together and the love and dedication that went into it. As for the DVD case itself, I love how it's put together! The fold out with pictures of Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet is just so lovely! Not to mention the movie itself! I'm a bit disappointed that it's split onto two DVDs, but otherwise I do believe this is truly an iconic film with a lot of heart and unfortunately tragedy. Even knowing how things turn out, I still can't ...
