    super useful kitchen product

    The Foley is as old as the ages, but this all stainless steel product is one of the most useful tools in the kitchen. Fast creation of apple products, potato products, and many MORE. IT WORKS!

    3-4 stars

    The mill is heavy and will work well but the bottom was bent in too much and the mill scrapes into the metal. I will need to adjust this with a mallet in order to use it. I just dont prefer metal flakes in my apple butter. I'm sure that not all of the mills are like this and this was just a defective one so I would recommend the product as I know the Foley food mills are usually of good quality. I like the depth of this mill as compared to the 2qt one.

    Glad I bought it

    It's a sturdy piece of equipment. I might need to learn to use it better, but the first try was successful. Certainly easier putting tomatoes through this food mill than a strainer.

    Making sauce from fresh tomatoes

    It is not as easy as it looks, but it did taste good. The tomatoes seeds do get stuck in the strainer so there is a lot of scraping the seeds out so you can continue with mashing. I did 8 qts of plum tomatoes which took much time. still working on doing it better.
