  • Adequate as a college textbook

    This is a college textbook and so is geared toward the History of Music syllabus. As such, it is really the teacher's prerogative to review it rather than the student's. As a student, I found it adequate, although I think the editors go a little overboard in their note-by-note analysis of the musical selections included, but all in all it does the job that a college textbook should do
