Product Information

Ernest Hemingway's short story THE KILLERS was turned into two memorable films noir at the beginning and the end of the high period of the genre. This collection features both films. The original 1946, directed by Robert Siodmak, version stars Burt Lancaster as "the Swede," an aging boxer who is brought in on for an underground job. The 1964 Don Siegel version stars Lee Marvin and Clu Gulager as a pari of gunmen scouring a seedy underworld. See individual titles for further details.

A Killing And The Whole Story Behind The Killing
"The Killing" is rated high on all lists of film noir greats. The cast is stellar and the story direction is some of the best ever. It's a tangled web of intrigue, throughout, with many flashbacks. Two of my favorites are the stars of this film, Burt Lancaster and Edmond O'Brien early in their careers. This is a "Criterion Collection" copy and the video is sharp & clear, like new. That's the only way to view such older films.

Great DVD!
I am pleased that the DVD packaging was pristine, with all the original leaflets inside. I enjoyed watching both versions, and I am thankful to have found it!

2 great films 1946 and 1964 Versions. I see why this was Reagan's last movie
