"Sons of Liberty" is a great movie. It will give you a deeper understanding of the American Revolution.
This is the history of the American Revolution, and there's not much available in DVD form about our American Revolution. This is a great production. Everyone should see this. (There's a few parts that should be censored.), but taken as a whole it's greatly informative. It will increase your apprecia- tion for the price that was paid for our Nation!

Enjoyed the historical content of this movie. Title is a good one....
I enjoyed this mini series very much. I really enjoyed the historical content --we need more movies like this. I would give the acting of the movie a number 4...

Sad Effort Which Misrepresents History
The ONLY redeeming factor in this travesty of a revised history presentation (using poor research) is the photography. The gratuitous sex and overly bloody violence plays to the writers & director opinions wishfully conjuring their version of fact, make this COMPLETELY UNSUITABLE for sharing with students of any age. Watching both discs is a waste of good time, better spent watching other programming material. Forget this one!! Economically it appeared to be a good value, but it turns out to be a waste of money. Shame on the writers and director. The actors were relative unknowns, but they pulled their parts together without any help from the writers for flow. There were frequent blackouts to piece the action together. The directorial action was amateurish!! There are too many other ... A great disappointment
Sons of Liberty had the potential to be a great production. The actors were moderately good to excellent. Most of the major characters were believable and true to what one knows of their personalities -- with the exception of the treatment of John Hancock. This production essentially paints him and an effete and effeminate aristocrat, concerned only with his pocketbook. The movie paints him as such an unpopular character, one wonders how Hancock got himself elected President of the Continental Congress and, later, the first elected Governor of Massachusetts. The staging, sets and costumes in this production were absolutely first class and the production does do well in depicting Boston and Massachusetts in the 18th century. However, Sons of Liberty took way too many "liberties" ... Sons of Liberty had the potential to be a great production. The actors were moderately good to excellent. The story of the events in Massachusetts that led to the American Revolution were dramatic enough without having some Hollywood writers screw around with documented history. I wish I could have previewed this one on Hulu, Amazon or Netflix before wasting my money on this one. Take my advice and save your money.
