Poor performance/tips
Iron heats rapidly to its' maximum, which is pretty darn low. Could not perform thru-holesoldering on 25mil pitch items. Too cold. Tip are crap, heaven only knows what they're made of 'cause 60/40 solder won't stick to/coat them. Junk, not like the old style light-blue handled Wellers, they were great.

When it cones to soldering, Weller is the ticket
Listen, I've been soldering for a long time. Well before eBay was ever dreamed up. And Weller has always made quality irons to fit any budget. I needed a plug in iron for quick jobs in the shop but also for field work where transporting a soldering station just isn't feasible. And this model does the job just fine. The added bonus feature of led lighting takes it over the top. Ensure you tin the tip properly before putting this device into service and it will treat you very well.

Great soldering iron with lights. The lights come in handy for close up soldering and tight spots. The screw in tips are the way to go. No more stripping the screw to replace tips just unscrew. I find that the 25 watt is effective for electronics and gives enough liquid to solder but not harden real quick. I was using a 60 watt before and had problems with dripping. The price you can't beat. Highly reccomend.

Nice soldering Iron.

All you need, flashlight a bonus.
