I almost forgive Cocktail
Cocktail is a ridiculous movie because the writing is so poor. I'm not going to get into too many specifics but basically something may have happened to the original script and by the time to studio execs tampered in the editing room, all the nuances to give any sort of reasoning or dynamic to any of the characters in this film have been flushed down the Buena Vista toilet. Guy cheats on girl he loves, gets 2nd chance after fistfight with bell hop, eventually gets money from father in law who hates him (off camera). Wait, nevermind. It was his frugal uncle who gave him the loan, that's right. How foolish of me not to invest in the idea that a penny pinching middle class working guy finances a chic hot spot for the night life? I'm so dumb! I forgot to mention that amidst this fun 80's flick, the co-star slices his neck to death with a broken bottle and bleeds out like a pig all over the coffee table in a yacht. Surely the work of the lowest common way of thinking, that was the worst traits of the 80's in Hollywood. Just dumb. With that said, I still kind of liked Cocktail. Tom Cruise is a force because he has severe conviction. There is no afterburn in his eyes. He believes what he says and does and that goes a long way for my dollar. Elisabeth Shue is the ultimate honey girl next door, too. Throw in about 15 seconds of screen time for "Kokomo" by the Brian Wilson-less Beach Boys and you have one heck of a "Cocktail"!Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

A must have Tom Cruise movie.
A great Tom Cruise movie and everything he did back then was definitely worth seeing and owning. Pretty good transfer of this blu-ray not any extras but that's fine for me. I'm glad to finally have this and at a cheap price.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht
