Revamp your old non-hd flat screen tv.
I have a 32” non-hd flat screen tv in my bedroom which even though it is plugged into a good outdoor digital aerial only picked up a limited amount of freeview channels which was very frustrating as I was unable to watch free sports channel on this set. Buying this BT box has made all the difference. A simple plug in and now I have all the freeview channels I could wish for, including free sports channel. Within minutes of plugging the BT box into my bedroom tv I have set up several recordings so that when I retire to bed I can watch what I want to whenever I like. So hats off to BT for making available such a brilliant product. Oh, and I am not subscribing to the BT YouView system I am simply using it as a freeview receiver/recorder. Great Value Freview HD Recorder
The BT TV Box Pro is the latest version of BT's own branded Freview TV recorder. This new box has quad tuners allowing three channels to be recorded at once while watching another all in full HD. It also boasts 4K compatibility although you'll only find those programmes on subscription channels. The interface is easy to use and extremely fast which powerful processors inside. All catch up services are available alongside access to Netflix if you have an account. Having used the box for a few weeks now, it's as fast as Sky's latest Q Box and you can also access the BT TV app to remotely record programmes from your mobile. There are added BT subscription channels on the interface but you are not required to access these if you don't want to making this perfect for anyone to use whether or not you are a BT customer. The new Bluetooth remote is easy to use, quiet and very responsive. BT Ultra HD Freeview Recorder

BT ULTRA HD tuner/recorder 1TB HDD
This is a great box. I'm using it without a BT subscription and it's perfectly good. I read online that the BT App (for remote programming) is available to use for non-BT customers but I can't make anything happen. Since YouView removed the oh-so-useful remote programming app (WHY????) I've been looking all over for a similar one - hoped this would be the answer but not yet. Surely someone else could develop or get the old info from YV and relaunch it? You won't regret buying this. Top quality sound.
It's the best sound base I've heard so far. I got it for a bargain price and would recommend it to anyone. It has literally transformed my viewing experience. I also use it as my music system for the lounge. It's that good, it can be your main sound system for streaming music or using the playlist on your phone. Easy installation and quicker response
I have been using the Talktalk HUAWEI DN370T Youview box for severalo years but, despite the recent software upgrades, the response to the remote control was slow due to the limitations of its components. Thankfully, the Humax is more powerful and up to date giving a great HD picture and quicker response times. Despite it being a BT box it works perfectly with the Talktalk service once the software has been updated over the internet. NOTE FOR USERS WITH HUMAX FREESAT BOX I also have a Humax Freesat box which uses the same remote control functions as this Youview box. As a consequence when you switch on the Youview box the Freesat also switches on and visa versa, Although there are differences in buttons on the remotes you will change channel and all other main functions on both boxes simultaneously which can create problems (I somehow managed to do a factory reset of the Youview box loosing all the recordings I had made. Brilliant! Its the only one that works for us!!
Tried Humax, Manhattan and Panasonic. On the first two, the picture kept freezing for a couple of seconds, then would continue but happened more frequently the longer the box was on. Humax and Panasonic almost twice the price of this. Our first Panasonic box stopped 'talking' to our TV after only 20 months, so I pulled out our old BT Youview box. This purchase is to replace the 'old' box, which is now going to our caravan!. You need the internet to set it up, watch catch up TV and access the EPG, but our TV is quite new so we access on demand through that. Set this box up by plugging into our Netgear wifi booster, then disconnected the ethernet cable. The main reason we use a box is to pause, rewind and record programmes and this works a trear!! Bargain
I'm a big fan of YouView+, in my opinion it beats Freeview Play in every respect, more responsive better EPG, fewer annoying messages, the list goes on.
