Great phone but!!
This phone is very well featured and comprehensive in most ways. However it was purchased to replace a BT Relate which had suddenly failed. The Relate had a brilliant backlit display which is sadly missing from the Decor 2600. This means that unless in a brightly lit location it is very difficult to read the number of an incoming call. One small niggle is that the number of characters available for inputting names to numbers in the directory is rather limited resulting in some often amusing abbreviations. The Relate had one other useful feature which was to associate distinctive ringtones with numbers, which is missing from the Decor. Otherwise I am very pleased with the phone. I guess these shortcomings are the result of cost cutting measures in order to remain competitive or possibly because the market commonly demands cordless phones these days. That's a shame really because for example, one advantage with this phone is that it will continue to work through a power cut, unlike it's cordless competitors. Give it a go though it's a good phone.

Very good land line phone.
The phone is very quick and easy to set up. Using the features of the phone and making calls from the stored numbers is efficient. Useful hands-free calling also very convenient.

great features but display not back lit
BT Decor 2600 with call blocker no bad points with this phone ,easy set up as well . only one small bad point is that the display is not back lit thats the only down side with this phone

Phone Scammers Beware - your days are numbered
This is a neat phone with bigish buttons and Call scanning. It does take a little while to set up, adding all your contacts, but worth it, as it lets them get through to you without delay. The call scanner works for unrecognised incoming numbers, and has already stopped me being interrupted by these scammers and even call centre employees who presumably get discouraged, knowing that I'm screening incoming calls, so less likely to want to talk to them. The system lets you refuse to answer their call, but allows them to leave a message - explaining why they're calling, or they can simply move on to the next 'victim'. If you want you can just bar that number next time with the press of one button - brilliant.

Nuisance calls feature is excellent
Working from home I receive several nuisance calls telling me my computer or my broadband or something needs "fixing" and even with the telephone preference service and cold calls being illegal it doesn't stop the ones originating from foreign shores. I was skeptical this phone could do any better but I was pleasantly surprised - the caller (if not in your phonebook) has to announce who they are with a short message - the scammers don't - and then your phone rings to let you know you have a call, plays you their message and you have the choice to block, accept, or send to answerphone, all before you've even spoken to them, excellent! If they don't leave you a message, your phone doesn't even ring, genius! Apart from that, the phone is smart looking, has a clear LCD display that's always on, works well, with solid buttons and an easy to use menu, far more intuitive than my previous cordless which had a convoluted menu you needed the instructions for. Overall an excellent phone for nuisance calls and smart in your home, highly recommended.

Happy With Purchase
Only limited use so far, but very happy with my purchase thus far. From the big bold buttons to the easy to use menus and of course the call blocker function, at the price I paid this is great for a landline phone. It's mains powered, but in the event of a power cut, it seems to be possible to make and receive calls only (nothing which needs the screen) which is fine for me. One note of caution is that callers not in your address book on the phone will get a message, which may put some genuine callers off. The call blocking can be turned off if need be, e.g. until you have typed in all the numbers for your friends and family etc.

Big Button , Big features
The BT 2600 is ideal for everyone suffering from nuisance calls and is recommended together with the BT service for which it is intended, simple programming and large scale LCD is also a bonus for older people. Good , loud ring tone and sensible value. It will of course require a dedicated mains supply to operate.

A corded device so no dying batteries. Does every thing I need. Nuisance features very useful for the vulnerable. The phone socket for the BT connector is not the standard for a modem so an adapter is required for fire connection.

very good features but.......
Very good features nice and loud hands free,good clear display but it has to be plugged in to mains much rather it had batteries and/or choice of .

Large figures - looks light and bright.
Really pleased with the phone and impressed with the security bit. It's getting a lot of callers confused and they go away - great!!
