If you only want one wedge, make it this one...
I have been splitting logs using wedges and 16# sledge hammers since the 1980s. I have quite a collection of wedges, but this wedge does more and is quicker than the others. After I received the 1st one, I ordered another although it may be some time before it is needed. This wedge is long and very sharp at the tip, which may account for its splitting qualities. I have buried 4 wedges in a gnarled, fibrous log and rescued them with this one. From heavy use, the only signs of wear are the label stickers and the paint job. Great supplement to standard wedge
I split a couple of rounds of locust today. I used this wedge to rescue my regular wedge when it got stuck. I tried to split a couple of pieces starting with this wedge, and it would just bounce out of the round. The wedge that I received did not have the same taper as the picture now. I think the edge has something to do with it bouncing out. I am happy with this wedge as a companion for my other wedge. real steel used to make it.

Great wedge

Good wedge and tough
Works great but needs a relatively deep slot to start it because it has a tendency to bounce out of the starting slot but once started it splits great. Just finished a 1/2 cord of tough red oak.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Neu

Not recommended
