Notes2013 remastered expanded edition of this 1969 album including bonus tracks. This updated version features the original U.K running order and track segues, with "One Sunny Day" and "Without You" making their first appearance on a CD issue of the album, as well as new liner notes by veteran rock journalist David Fricke and bonus tracks, including the revered single "Oh Well Pt. 1," which boasts one of the great guitar riffs in rock history and has been covered by likes of Billy Gibbons, Jimmy Page &Tom Petty. Fleetwood Mac was already a popular blues band in 1969 when they released Then Play On, the groups stellar third studio album. It was the first with guitarist-songwriter Danny Kirwan and ultimately it's last with founding member Peter Green. Includes four bonus tracks originally released as singles: parts one and two of "Oh Well," "The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown)" and "World in Harmony," which is available on CD for the first time.

Can't go wrong with Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac!
Classic rock and English blues. Listened to this album over and over over the years and recently picked up this Deluxe Editon. Holds up well if you like guitar based rock and blues. The definitive CD release of this album (as of 2018)
The original artwork and complete UK tracklist finally restored (and no edited tracks, these are taken from the original UK master tapes). The singles spliced into the US version are also included as bonus tracks. Mastering is excellent - no brickwall compression. Liner notes are okay, written by David Fricke and what you would expect. Glorious
I hadn't heard this in a very long time. There are differences of opinion regarding to what degree the remastering has improved the sound but on my system, the sound presents no distracting problems-- I'm able to focus wholly upon the music. What a shame that this personnel was not able to produce further studio recordings. Given the evolution of Kirwan's style, as evidenced by his work on Future Games and Bare Trees, one can only imagine how the Kirwan/Green partnership would've developed. But this is glorious. A great CD by a great Blues Band!
