Synopsis
This book is about the interpenetration of culture and personality, specifically Alexander I's Russian Empire, a latecomer in post-Napoleonic European history, and Aleksandr Pushkin, virtuoso improvisor yet prisoner of the Golden Age discourses that now bear his name., This book focuses on the interpenetration of culture and personality in the work of Alexander Pushkin, during Russia's Golden Age under Alexander I. The author argues that the fashionable genres of Romanticism offered Pushkin fresh opportunities for self-articulation where no native tradition of individualism existed. It focuses on Pushkin's use of the Romantic fragment, especially the link between the fragment and Romantic irony's fundamental and modern questioning of the sources and intentionality of language. In the view of such irony's most eloquent formulator, Friedrich Schlegel, "identity" does not precede speech, but is forged in each improvisational interaction with interlocutor or reader. One finds out who one is by speaking, and all utterances and texts stand in a fragmentary, contingent relation to an accumulating life-text., Pushkin and Romantic Fashion is about the interpenetration of culture and personality, specifically Alexander I's Russian Empire, a latecomer in post-Napoleonic European history, and Alexsandr Pushkin, virtuoso improvisor yet prisoner of the Golden Age discourses that now bear his name. The author argues that the fashionable genres of Romanticism offered Pushkin fresh opportunities for self-articulation where no native tradition of individualism existed. She reveals Pushkin's use of the link between the Romantic fragment and Romantic irony's questioning of the sources and intentionality of language. Pushkin may come closest of all major European poets to realising what Schlegel prescribed as the poetics of modernity, because, as common latecomers on the European scene, Russian and German writers shared a fascination with European fashions and a talent for conflating or stepping outside them.

- j***2 (61)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter Kauf☆☆☆ Seller. Is not the picture of actual recieved item. Listing photo was pulled from internet and used as placeholder, according to sellers listing. Thats on me for buying the cheapest one without looking at listing fully. Would have been better to not use another persons photo on seller's listing as the specific guide book advertised has reflective bits, the one i recieved did not.. At least it arrived and is decent enough to use and look at. Packed ok. Shipped promptly. Thank you.Pokemon Platinum Version: The Official Pokemon Guide (Nr. 396979033428)
- k***i (38)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzte 6 MonateBestätigter KaufFantastic price, faster shipping than expected, item as described. However, packaging was a thin plastic envelope instead of bubble/ cardboard. Book arrived new yet slightly damaged. Not worth asking for a return due to the very low price, yet would suggest to seller/ future buyers to have better packaging for shipping. Thanks.
- e***u (4506)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufWell the stock photo was just that, a stock photo and the item did not include the other material shown, which I had asked about. A chance you take. Otherwise, in good shape, shipped promptly, plastic bag envelope (nothing wrong with that for the price, but subject to beatings by the PO dolts. Yes, i will still buy from them if the price is reasonable.
