The light is very bright and that adds to the effect which I perceived as positive. The fact that it uses AC power means you don't have to worry about keeping batteries charged. You are most likely to use this at home anyway.

When he put the device on, he said he could immediately tell what the device was trying to do. He was going to wear it to work today during his meetings - he is very optimistic after these first few days. If it helps him, even a little, the device is worth a try for those of you battling the pain of tics. Good luck. Great communication from the seller. Product better than expected.
