Wonderful presentation of simple science that preceeds our moden technology
Moving Heavy Things is a great book for anyone, young or old, who's ever contemplated moving something they can't simply pick up! The book shows, through easily understood text and illustrations, how our great- great- and grandparents got that truck/boat/tree-stump/log or house from here to there without massive engines, trucks and cranes. On a day-to-day basis, you'll also learn simple ways of moving a yard-full of debris to a refridgerator or bed up the stairs! A little and quick read, Moving Heavy Things will have you thinking for weeks afterwards and understanding "how that got there"? Excellent book!
