Really helps the mic deal with wind
The Rode VideoMic Pro is an excellent all-in-one shotgun mic for the price, aimed at videomakers using DSLRs with a jack socket for a microphone. Its performance weakness shows up in any wind, when the standard fixed foam muffler catches a lot of wind noise. This DeadCat slips on over the foam muffler and takes almost all wind noise out. Works well, too expensive. And, it should have been shipped with microphone.
