It's pretty damn good, but the battery should be bigger, and a standard charging port would have been a bonus.
I bought this to replace a Chuwi Hi12 which died - Chinese electronics strikes again - and it's a very good piece of kit, even considering the age. The display is the same panel as the hi12, so "Excellent" is an understatement, but the touch on the Surface is much, much better due to the panel and the digitiser being closer together. Performance wise, there is no comparison, the Surface is so much more fluid, and the pen can draw a curve without "stuttering". Given it was second hand - and ex-demo - I was surprised to find it hadn't been wiped and it was a pain to work out how to reset it then load a fresh Win10 onto it. But when done, it's a beautiful little piece of kit. It'll run Visual Studio 2019 fine - albeit a little slow on compilation - and Paintshop Pro 9 works fine as well, ... The TypeCover is very usable - even if US layout only - and it even backs up quickly using AOMEI Backupper Standard, thanks to a genuine SSD instead of the eMMC disk in the Hi12 - which contributes a lot to the speed. The battery though? It's a bit small. The Hi12 has 11Ah, this is 5.5Ah with a better processor, more RAM, and the same display. Even MS say that it's 9 hours of "light browsing". In practice it's 3 hours of "general use" before you need the charger again. But, it charges pretty fast, and you can use it while it charges (unlike my wife's Samsung tablet). Executive summary: it's pretty damn good, but the battery should be bigger, and a standard charging port would have been a bonus.

Nice clear screen and Good speed but fan rattles a bit when hot Good sized screen for viewing photos on This is my forth surface tablet all still work very reliable product over many years bought this for larger screen

Bought this not expensive 2in1 for being 5years old i wasn't expecting it to be fast, but boy how wrong was I, it's very fast plays my games great, streaming video is also good, screen is brilliant but that's just my opinion, you might not think so but that's ok, I've not in countered any problems with using it, speakers are quite good for something so thin, but again my own opinion, would I recommend this the answer is definitely yes!Bought this not expensive 2in1 for being 5years old i wasn't expecting it to be fast, but boy how wrong was I, it's very fast plays my games great, streaming video is also good, screen is brilliant but that's just my opinion, you might not think so but that's ok, I've not in countered any problems with using it, speakers are quite good for something so thin, but again my own opinion, would I recommend this the answer is definitely yes!

Convenient device and easy to use
The Surface is great, it's really convenient to carry around and has great features, everything I need without the bulk of a laptop. I would highly recommend, particularly the surface pen which adds a whole new dimension.

Excellent device.
This tablet/computer runs flawlessly even after a few years, it hasn't fallen into disuse. Perfect for students thanks to its versatility it can also handle " heavy " softwares like Photoshop or even light games perfectly. The screen quality is gorgeous, consuming entertainment or media is a real pleasure. The sound quality isn't too bad and the battery life is more than decent ( a full day of normal usage ). Accessories can easily be improved and updated, for instance the surface pro 4 Type Cover is compatible and is far better than the surface pro 3 one. The same with the surface pen. To conclude, this laptop/tablet is a great device for those who need to strike a balance between versatility and power. Another thing I'd like to mention, this tablet runs a full version of Windows unlike ... This tablet/computer runs flawlessly even after a few years, it hasn't fallen into disuse.
