Harry Pearce (head of MI5s section D) has been kidnapped and the rest of the team are racing to solve the mystery of his disappearance before its too late. They discover that Harry thwarted a clandestine operation to smuggle weapons grade uranium into Iraq to justify the war. Now the rogue officers who masterminded the operation want their uranium back and are prepared to go to any lengths to get it, including bringing ex Spook Ruth Evershead out of exile to blackmail Harry... Ruth and Harry are eventually rescued, just in time for Harry to oversee negotiations with Tazbekestan after an explosion in a gas processing plant threatens the UKs gas reserves. In the meantime Lucas has stuck up a rather too friendly relationship with new CIA recruit Sarah Caufield. Although she claims to be ushering in a new breed of liberal American agents, is she really all she seems? When Harry receives a tip off about Nightingale, a neo con group out for global domination, a series of seemingly coincidental events: the death of two CIA agents, the transfer of six million pounds into a Pakistani bank account, a Hindu Nationalist attack on a Muslim school and a global series of clashes between Hindu and Muslim extremists suddenly seem like part of a bigger plan. A plan that may cost the team dearly It is up to Section D to find out who is behind these events and stop them before they trigger a war between two of the worlds largest nuclear powers....

Still a great series
This wonderful series is so up to date from a geo-political standpoint it may have been made last year rather than 10 years ago.
