  • Great Book

It depends on your interests. I am a lifelong railfan, worked 34 years in the industry, Southern Rwy. and Chessie/CSX. And then 17 more years with railroad contractors, and 4 years as a volunteer on the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic. So yes, I am biased. Eugene Huddleston's books are always a great buy, and I have 3 or 4 other of his titles. Another similar product are the 4 books, focussed on the Denver & Rio Grande narrow gauge by John Norwood. If you are not interested in railroads in general and eastern coal haulers in particular then you won't like this book, but for me it is having your cake & eating it too.
