    A great cable solution for modern TV's

    I want to first say that if you have multiple classic units this may not be the best solution, but it does the job really nicely. I will say that it looks fantastic, and the changing of output ratio is nice. If you are an owner of the Sega Genesis with the Sega CD and the Sega 32x you will need another free power port, and you will need your own 5v 1.5a USB power supply. Like I said earlier, if you own multiple classic gaming systems, you should look into a RCA to HDMI converter instead. You lose the option for switching to 16x9 but there is no difference in audio or video quality with using the converter over this cable. Just missing out on the 16x9 or 4.3 ratio switch.

    Great Budget Option

    While there are a couple minor things that keep this from a 5 star product, it is a great value. I notice a split-second delay in rendering the full resolution. It doesn't cause any delays in game play, just a slight blur. On a positive note, there is no screen tearing, which was a concern. Also, the final image is pixel crisp on a 50" DLP. The one other item of note is that there is a required power source (USB brick not included). All that said, I'll take this over the $100 cables any day.

    a few quality issues but good budget solution

    This is a good budget solution to connect a Sega Genesis to a modern TV. It would probably work better with the model 2 because you wouldn't need the adapter, and you could get stereo sound. I was having issues with the adapter for the model 1. It wouldn't fit together tightly. I actually bought another adapter from another company... It still doesn't fit quite right, but it is working, so I'm happy.

    An excellent cable for the price, colors could be better.

    An excellent alternative to the composite cable that the genesis would normally use, colours are a bit washed out, however for the massive increase in video quality thats a price to pay. Here are two images, one of the composite video on genesis and the other with the cable

    Works great on my Gen 1 Sega Genesis and...

    Works great on my Gen 1 Sega Genesis and my Sega Nomad! The 4:3 ratio for me is better than 16:9 on a large screen. 16:9 only stretches and enhances the blockiness of these old games. Definitely an easier hook-up than figuring out how I used to hook it up with a RF switch box.
