The vinyl strip to protect items on the carrier is heavy duty and inserted into a channel, not merely glued on. The vinyl flanges and snap-on heavy plastic covers protect the end cap inserts bolted into the slots on the roof rails. The hex head bolts seem to be stainless. Needed a few extra washers in front assembly as the bolts were a tad long but the extra washers gave it a perfect fit. The rear assembly fit fine. Looks good on car. Pleased.
