The series is based on the fundamental premise that English grammar is learnable and teachable if it is systematically organized and explained. Grammar Sense implements linguistic and applied linguistic research on how, where, when, and why native speakers use English structures, and how non-native speakers learn them. This series provides learners with a true understanding of how grammar is used in authentic contexts. Grammar is presented in discourse rather than in isolated sentences which allows the students to understand English grammar in real life situations., Each chapter opens with a Grammar in Discourse section showing the target grammar in an authentic reading context. The Form sections present the target grammar with clear, concise explanations that students can understand. They also encourage students to use their critical thinking abilities to use English outside of the classroom and to continue learning English on their own. Special sections throughout the chapters cover pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary, the differences between written and spoken language, and grammar beyond the sentence. The Writing Section guides students through the process of applying grammatical knowledge to compositions. It was shipped from Pennsylvania, to Atlanta, past Alabama to Texas, enjoyed several days in Texas, then to Minneapolis, Jacksonville, Florida, back to Atlanta, finally to Birmingham, and Huntsville. The seller was very responsive and I decided it was interesting to see if/how the book would arrive. Thanks, Joe
