Keith Jarrett, a true American master, delivers a recording quite unlike anything he has ever done before. The melody at night, with you - perhaps his most intimate album - was recorded at his home studio, and is played with unmistakable affection. The material is comprised of solo piano renderings of traditional ballads and songs ("i got it bad and that ain't good," "someone to watch over me," "blame it on my youth/meditation"), all of which have personal significance for him.
