Better than I expected.
This little amp is awesome. I set it up the proper way, running up the volume on the head unit to the point of distortion then backing off to clean sound. Then adding sensitivity on the amp to distortion again and backing off. The sensitivity is only up about 1/4 but the sound is great. Very full. I have some high end Focal 6 x 9 and Focal 6” so they will take a good bit of power. Just to check things out I ran the sensitivity up with no music playing and there was a good bit of hiss starting about 60% on the dial. It’s still a five star for me since it does everything I need and more than I expected. This little amp is awesome. I have not installed it yet....but it's the smallest, most powerful class D amp I have ever seen, and screws to the back of the head unit
This little amp screws to the back of almost any Alpine head unit. The head unit I bought had 50 watts MAX, and only 14 watts RMS. With the "piggyback" amp here bolts to the bac,k of the thin double din head unit, and fits in almost any double din head unit slot..behind the actual stereo. This little class D amp fires off 50 watts RMS....that's right....RMS. So make sure you buy high quality 65 to 100 watt RMS door speakers. I am hoping that this amp will free up the head unit power. The head unit will then power my dash speakers. Dash speakers are usually lower power and the base 14 watt per channel will power my two dash speakers and I can bridge the two rear channels to power my Infinity mid dash sub. (This is a relatively difficult unit to install because of all the harnesses...but it ... This little amp screws to the back of almost any Alpine head unit. The next level
For me it just doesn't get any better than Alpine. The best quality a person can buy . And the price was really reasonable it has taken my car and my enjoyment to the next level and beyond Thanks Alpine

Bang for the buck!
I originally bought the iLX-w650 headset to pair with one of these amps, if I felt the need for more power. After about a year, this newer KTA-450 came out as an improved version of the previous. Install was super easy, and it certainly was WELL worth it for the money. The sound is awesome, especially considering the size. I'm running four 6.5" coaxial speakers at 50x4 RMS, and am thoroughly enjoying it. I will probably add a subwoofer and use the RCA's that are still available for that amp, to round off the sound completely.I originally bought the iLX-w650 headset to pair with one of these amps, if I felt the need for more power. Perfect for a stealth install!
Great compact little amp piggy backed on my Alpine iLX-W650 head unit. So far seems to have good power for it's size...set the gains to about 10 O'clock to keep the noise floor to a minimum.
