Get the warranty; swap out the HDD for SDD
Get the warranty and plan to use it. I keep buying the HP Pavilion 17" laptops because they always have hinge issues before the warranty is expired. Then, I send them in for repairs. My last Pavilion had so many hinge issues that HP had to replace the entire bottom shell and they gave me a new keyboard for some reason. It was like I had a brand new computer, externally anyway. Once I swapped out the HDD for a SDD, this computer met all my needs. The processor is more than adequate for even amateur video editing. I love the backlit keyboard. I plan to keep buying these Pavilion laptops until HP makes it impossible to take advantage of their poor workmanship.

Heavy but I love the laptop.
I am been pleased with my HP Notebook PC 17" Intel Core i5 12GB RAM. It is a little heavier than I would have liked but it is doing the job.

Works well, and is very handy for the limited work I use it for...
I needed an average Laptop PC to run a specific solar battery charging and conditioning program. It shipped well, and but for my own mistakes, has started up, loaded and operates the little bit of work I ask of it, just fine. I am an apple person normally, PCs are generally not my thing but this HP works well for my purposes. Would like longer battery life tho.... Bob Sterling, San Leandro, CA.

The price was right
I am pleased with the computer except for the SD slot, which is too deep and extremely difficult to remove the SD card, Microsoft still hasn't got Windows 10 working after 16 years. The interface to Windows 10 for the initial setup should be removed before someone shoots a bunch of Microsoft programmers. The fan is noisy after it heats up.

Great upgrade for a good price.
Replaced an older Pavilion model. Love that it still has a DVD drive built in. Great Wireless and internet card. Went from 100mbps to 450mbps and no delays while processing several applications at the same time. Also antivirus/malware program used to interfere with normal operations while running scans, now it isn't noticeable. Display is very crisp.

Smooth Laptop
This laptop has a nice, big screen. The resolution is not perfect, but clear enough. It has a nice, roomy hard drive. Really nice for watching TV or videos. The only concern I have is, the battery life is not that long. But this is refurbished, so it's understandable. I can live with it

Outstanding Laptop - Excellent Value
Although "Factory Refurbished", you'd never know. Looks and runs as if it is fresh out of an original, unopened box straight from the HP production line.
