Activision's Tony Hawk Pro Skater series gears up for another run in Tony Hawk's Underground, a 3D skateboarding title offering the most radical departure from previous installments in the franchise to date. More freedom and greater customization features are at the top of the list in improvements, but the biggest change is the absence of professional skaters. Instead of mastering the moves of Tony Hawk or another athlete, players must guide a no-name skater looking for a break on the tough streets of New Jersey. Gone is the Career mode from previous titles and in its place is a Story mode that chronicles an individual's rise from obscurity to become "Skater of the Year." <br><br>For the first time in the series, players can actually explore their environment without the skateboard, accessing new areas by walking up a flight of stairs, grabbing and lifting themselves onto rooftops, or shimmying across ledges. Missions have expanded as well, with players able to steal a car to complete objectives and perform other tasks to help gain notoriety and hopefully land a sponsorship deal. PlayStation 2 owners have the added benefit of online support, a console exclusive, allowing players to download created parks, tricks, and goals. Customization options have also expanded to the point where players can upload a digital picture to developer Neversoft so it can be converted into a facial map for a created skater.

    It took longer than expected to get this and when it arrived the box was heavily damaged. The Atari was broken inside and a controller was missing. I contacted the seller which immediately sent me a label and I sent it back to him. Apparently the people who were handling the package completely destroyed the original box and repackaged it. I got a full refund and in a very timely manner. This seller handled it perfectly and was very nice about everything. Will buy from this seller again.

    Amazing Game

    This game has so many memories in my opinion Underground 1 & 2 are the best Tony Hawk games of all time so much to do you get to get off the board I used to grind this game all the time get it lol but no in all seriousness pick this game up 10/10

    The game that changed skating games

    This was the game that changed the tony hawk series to a good direction. Compelling story playing as yourself and new mechanics added such as walking and driving. The story keeps you playing and its simply one memorable game from the franchise.

    Giving 5 stars but

    Game is for American playstations not European so wont load on my PS2. On looking at the ad again I note it was listed among the specifications so definitely 100% my fault, but feel it should be written elsewhere, this game is for American not European PS2, oh well
