Great spin off to the Ryu Ga Gotoku / Yakuza series
For those who are unaware, this game is entirely in Japanese. There might be a couple prompts in English, but everything else major is in Japanese. There are a couple guides online for those who wish to play the game and enjoy the story who do not understand Japanese, but the formula of the game is very easy to understand if you've played a Yakuza game before. The graphics look very good for the time it came out, it was the first Ryu Ga Gotoku game that was not released on Playstation 2. The soundtrack is very compelling and keeps you interested. The story is quite different compared to the mainline games, mostly noting Kiryu's character, who does not act very similar to the Kiryu from Ryu Ga Gotoku 1 and 2. A few characters from the main games appear in this spin off. Overall, Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzan is fun and as action packed as promised. I also recommend checking out Ryu Ga Gotoku Ishin, another Japanese period spin off. You do not have to play Kenzan to play Ishin, as Ishin is based in a different time period.
