Cute
I had never seen this and I'd seen every screwball comedy ever made. So I had to get it. Well, it's cute, not as good as other Jean authur comedies but amusing. The real surprise is John wayne. So interesting to see him in a selfish non hero type of character. He's just a single cowboy that's very lucky with the ladies and is not going to change for anyone. His performances are always low-key but here, playing the straight man in the comedy he's very good. Alot conveyed with his face and body language. He's quite good. There are a lot of real outdoors scenes and with the film of the time there not as good as they could be. So the film has a grey kind of feel as opposed to crisp black and white. That shades the feel of the film a lot. So good efforts on both actors, but just a cute, sometimes amusing film. Nice to see wayne in this light.
