I first read this book when it was published in 1974, and I improved my tennis game 100%, especially the serve. Now, upon reading it again, I am still finding it helpful. In particular, Gallwey's "let it happen" doctrine is the best weapon with which to combat shoddy strokes and repalce them with good ones.
Great book! Recommended by a friend to help me with my pickleball game. I am my own worse enemy on the court and this is helping to "quiet my mind" so that I can let my body perform and stop beating myself up.
