The monstrous creatures you hunt down can be carved up and used for armor, weapons, and other items you need to survive and explore. The "Monster Hunter" games offer you a way to escape from the modern world and real life by taking part in a fully immersive action-packed world.Quests are provided in the game by elders or individual town guilds and are divided into three types. The majority of the missions in this game are classified as Hunting Quests. In these quests, the game sends you to hunt down enemies after tracking, exploring, and provoking them. A Gathering Quest has you collect herbs, items, or monster parts as per the request of the quest-giver. Lastly, a Capture Quest is a bit more tricky, as these quests require you to weaken and capture your prey instead of killing them.There are two different ranks possible in the "Monster Hunter" game for the PS2. The Blademasters and Gunners offer drastically different combat styles, different sub-weapon types, and exciting ways to tackle the game's challenges. As a Blademaster, players can explore the game with a great sword, lance, hammer, of other traditional medieval weaponry. They can also be charged with different elements and status effects to manipulate the weaknesses of your enemies. Gunners can use light or heavy bow guns to take down their foes from a distance with hard-hitting combat or swift, debilitating attacks. Unlike other action role-playing games, the player isn't limited in the arms they use or how they use them. You can equip and wield whatever weapon you wish to use, provided you have the money to pay for it and the supplies to manage it.Get creative and develop custom male or female characters armed with advanced weaponry that can conquer all of the giant creatures of this Sony PlayStation game. Then, when you feel brave enough, you can battle monsters to gather new equipment, unlock materials, and create new combinations. All of this can be used to make the ultimate battle-ready character or team. Utilize the game's intuitive role-playing navigation to explore the monsters' world and take on new challenges. Go ahead and equip players to fight monsters of increasing strength as skills are learned and tools are unlocked. This action role-playing game is designed for compelling play and timeless action.     Be warned! I would highly advise against using this seller. Game arrived with disc loose within case (I have video). Game still remains wrapped. I asked if it was loose before purchase, and he said no. So, I bought it. The disc likely became loose during transit because seller only used an envelope lined with bubble wrap and wrapped the game twice with thin bubble wrap. Like Amazon games shipped similarly, it isn't enough. Seller needed a box. Seller was very hostile when I reached out for help.

    1st off on an issue such as this I said contact eBay, he is assuming I was "very hostile" lol. He requested a return saying product was damaged and it was not. The disc must of came loose during shipping. I packed his game securely double wrapped in a bubble envelope like everyone else I sell to. Great feedback from everyone else. If he wanted it in a box, he should of asked! Very weird transaction unusually OCD. Please be detailed in shipping requests in other auctions.

    Consider this before purchasing

    This is where Capcom's record breaking franchise all began, and it has become a piece of gaming history. Unfortunately that means very little when it comes to game play. This is unlike the other games in the franchise, most notably in the way it controls. You do not attack with face buttons like in later entries, but rather you move the right thumbstick to slice and stab away. It's sound cool in theory, but it is cumbersome in practice. Beyond that the A.I is brutal. It's not that it is particularly difficult in combat, but that it is frustrating in how often the enemy decides to run away. These monsters run away so fast it would make Scooby-Doo jealous. With all of that out of the way it is still a fun game as long as you can look past the dated mechanics.

    Been looking for this!!!

    I am a huge fan of the monster hunter franchise, and this the game I've been looking for for a few years now. And I got it at reasonable price and am loving every second of it.

    Takes a bit for the hunter

    It's great to start on the journey to hunt for monsters, but doing side tasks really is a pain. But i still enjoy the game.
