A great "one and done" Scifi/Fantasy!!!!
As someone who has watched both this movie and most of the "Nightmare On Elm Street" series, I can say that I easily prefer "Dreamscape". For me, this movie had a better premise, story, more engaging characters, better special effects, and much better actors. When a movie has quality actors like Dennis Quaid, Kate Capshaw, Max Von Sydow, Christopher Plummer, and Eddie Albert, a great viewing experience is guaranteed. Of course, congratulations are also due to writer David Loughrey and SFX artists Craig Reardon and Greg Cannom. I found this movie much more engaging and imaginative than all of the Nightmare On Elm Street movies. I rate this movie along with "Videodrome" and "Scanners" as among some of the best, most engaging science-fiction movies produced in the 1980s and all time. These movies were memorable for the story, characters, ideas, and SFX. I seriously doubt these movies could be improved upon, even with modern CGI technology, especially when many modern movies tend to overemphasize the visuals (to the detriment of the story). I consider this movie as a great, if somewhat overlooked, genre classic. I'm thrilled to have this movie in my dvd collection.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht
