Name of the Rose-Great Entertainment
This is a great movie with an atmospheric setting and a very clever and complicated plot based upon the novel by Umberto Eco. Sean Connery is cast in an unusual role for him as a monk with Sherlock Holmes skills. He is far from his James Bond days but he does an excellent job as the religious sleuth proving what a good actor he is. F Murray Abraham and Christian Slater provide first class support. This is an entertaining film well worth a watch. Gerry Mc Menemy.

Eco & O'Connory
Eco is not an easy to read writer, quite complicated. Here you can be granted with easier way to get his work, but still better to read original, my suggestion. O'Connory eternal screen gentleman as usual as in every work. Amazing collection of types, not easy film to watch, not entertainment ...

This is a fine example of Connery's diverse choice of film roles post Bond, James Bond.
This is a fine example of Connery's diverse choice of film roles post Bond, James Bond. The story is surprisingly entertaining, A Monk and his ward are called to assist in the investigation of bizarre deaths at a remote monastery. Well worth a look if the premise is for you.
