Reviews
Praise for One Step Too Far "An authentic Wyoming setting, a tantalizing mystery, and a Labrador named Daisy. What's not to like?" --C.J. Box, #1 NYT best-selling author of Dark Sky Praise for the Frankie Elkin series "The prolific Gardner has come up with one of the most original characters in recent crime fiction, a woman readers can care about even while not being entirely sure of what to make of her." --Washington Post "A sharply written, tension-filled yarn full of twists readers are unlikely to see coming. The most compelling element, however, is the character of Frankie, a recovering alcoholic whose obsession with the missing is a penance of sorts for the burden of guilt and grief she carries over a past trauma that took the life of a man she loves." --Associated Press "A masterpiece of post-modern noir.... A riveting stunner of a tale where the rare appearance of the sun shines down on what is certain to be one of the best thrillers of 2021." -- Providence Journal "[An] outstanding crime novel.... Gardner pulls no punches in this socially conscious standalone." -- Publishers Weekly (starred review) "Fans of this incredible author, police procedurals, timely immigrant stories, strong determined women, and tales that are not tied up with a pretty bow at the end will not be able to get enough of this intense page-turner." -- Library Journal (starred review) "It's hard to tag just one stand-out element here, between the multidimensional portrayal of Mattapan's Haitian expat community, Frankie's humanizing demons and straightforward investigative technique, and a page-turning plot with all its ends tucked in unpredictably tight. Tense and immersive, Gardner's latest...is a sure bet both for readers drawn to gritty gumshoe fiction and for the growing legion of true-crime podcast fans." -- Booklist (starred review), Praise for One Step Too Far "Gardner's gripping sequel to 2021's Before She Disappeared ...winds toward a surprising conclusion." --Publishers Weekly "An authentic Wyoming setting, a tantalizing mystery, and a Labrador named Daisy. What's not to like?" --C.J. Box, #1 NYT best-selling author of Dark Sky "Master storyteller and avid hiker Lisa Gardner has written the book she was meant to write, an immersive, propulsive, utterly chilling, and yet deeply moving wilderness thriller in which her intimate knowledge of and love for the rugged Wyoming backcountry shines through on every terrifying page. Without a doubt, the best book I've read all year." --Karen Dionne, author of The Marsh King's Daughter "Visceral, unpredictable, and terrifying. You'll never hike into the woods again without thinking of Lisa Gardner's One Step too Far ." --Robert Dugoni. #1 Amazon Best Selling Author of the Tracy Crosswhite Series "Propulsive, adrenaline-fueled, terrifyingly real." --Clare Mackintosh, bestselling author of Hostage " And Then There Were None meets Deliverance . Gardner's latest will have you flipping pages at breakneck speed, guessing, and gasping." --Linwood Barclay, author of Find You First, Praise for One Step Too Far "An authentic Wyoming setting, a tantalizing mystery, and a Labrador named Daisy. Read it with your heart in your throat--but read it." -- Kirkus Reviews (starred review) "Gardner's latest series continues to excel; instinctual, tragedy-driven Frankie is one of crime fiction's most intriguing new sleuths." -- Booklist (starred review) "The appeal of Lisa Gardner's second Frankie Elkin mystery lies mainly with the meticulously researched science and lore on surviving in the wilderness -- and with the endearingly strange Frankie herself." --The Washington Post "Gardner's gripping sequel to 2021's Before She Disappeared ...winds toward a surprising conclusion." --Publishers Weekly "An authentic Wyoming setting, a tantalizing mystery, and a Labrador named Daisy. - o***9 (307)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufItem took too long to get shipped. I had a tracking number 6 days before item was given to post office. Once the usps had the package it arrived quickly. Item was as described and was packed very well. Customer service was responsive. If I knew that seller took so long to ship I would not have bought item from them. Nowhere does it say on the sellers site that they take 5-7 days to ship. That is rediculous. Anyhow. The old tape deck i bought works. Once belts are replaced it should be good.
