A Stellar Sherlock Holmes Adventure
"Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Silk Stocking" is by far the best Holmes pastiche in recent years. Rupert Everett plays Holmes as pure logic (as he should be), without the classic Sherlock trappings of the deerstalker cap, Inverness cape coat, and bent-stem pipe; nonetheless, he is most convincing in the role. The film allows him one comic episode, which is funny indeed, so be watching for it. As with many other pastiches, whether novels or films, the film draws excessive, unnecessary attention to Holmes' use of narcotics, which is an extremely minor point in Conan Doyle's stories. Overall, however, the film presents Holmes at his best -- a delight for true Sherlockians. P. S.: Watson seems to be wearing some sort of wig. Strange.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht
