A good backup SUMP PUMP to connect it to your garden hose during emergencies
This is a good backup sump pump to connect it to your garden hose during emergencies (like when your main sump pump fails) and push the water out of sump to prevent basement flooding until you get a replacement pump withing a day or two. I have read many good and bad reviews of this product and similar products from other manufacturers. It seems most people leave negative comments about SUMP PUMPS, because they buy these pumps not for the SUMP PUMP use, but for other uses like emptying their pool, or using in their little ponds, or water falls and they are disappointed because it did not meet their unrealistic expectations. Fist of all, ALL SUMP PUMPS are designed for short duty cycles (1-5 Min ON, 3-10 Min OFF). They are suppose to be submersed in water at all times, which allows cooling the motor during OFF cycles. They are mostly oil filled (so do not use them for fish tanks, it may leak oil and kill all your fish) and they are not designed to pump or crush small debris or trash in the water, only small grains of sand from time to time, but nothing larger. So, drain your sump well ONCE a YEAR in DRY SEASON and use a shop vac to clean all debris from the bottom, so it will not clog the motor propeller and catch you off-guard and cause a basement flood. Note: Most home owners insurances do not cover basement flooding due to sump pump failures, and even if they clearly state that they do cover flooding due to sump pump failure, you MUST provide record of proper annual maintenance for your sump pump.
