Dark comedy / USA southern/gay edge
This is a hysterically funny comedy, especially if you grew up in America in the south in the 70's and 80's. It also has a great tale to tell about being gay in a small town in the same era, and the struggles for families with gay members as well . Many stars are in this movie doing an excellent job. They put their heart and energy into this small film because of the content written into the script was very important at the time, and still is today in many parts of America and around the world .

NOT Recommended.
I am a BIG fan of both Del Shores and of the "Sordid Lives" TV series. I had some very high expectations -- which this film fell far short of meeting. It amazes me that the same set of characters could be so hilariously funny in the tv series.. and so incredibly boring in the movie. The movie plods along...you find yourself checking your watch to see how much longer it will last. Fans of the TV Series will NOT enjoy this movie. It tries to be "Poignant" when it could have made a much more entertaining movie by embracing its comedic elements. Can;t recommend this one...

Wacky adult material comedy with a message
I love this movie and all the redneck outrageous characters. This is a hilarious adult comedy that deals with homosexuality; infidelity; handicapped and smoking addiction issues as well as others. Nothing is taboo in this movie, so it is not for the faint of heart. But if you're open-minded and into cult movies, this is the one for you.

Disfunctional Family Memebers
This is one of the best of its kind as far as comedy and pinning the tail on the donkey. Most can see their southern relatives in this comedy. The cable shows are also a hoot...hope they are available to the public as well...Del Shores is a comedy genius and the players are all first-rate!

Fun and heartwarming
Really enjoyed this movie. Even some of the less likeable characters were entertaining and relatable.

Hilarious movie
To be honest I bought this because I love Olivia. But this movie is awesome and hysterical! Everyone needs to get this movie and laugh.

Entertaining and Funny
It is a shame the nerwork didn't pick up the second season of this series.. If you are fan of the movie you will love the series.. Terrific writing by Dell Shores. The DVD arrived fast and exactly as described in perfect condition and a good buy.

Great adult comedy!
Everyone I know who has seen this movie loves it and thinks it's hilarious! It's definitely not a run-of-the-mill type comedy, but it's really funny!

My favorite movie!
